Proper Fertilization: The Nutrient Guide for Your Plants.
The Nutrient Guide: From Growth Phase to Harvest.
If you want to get the best out of your plants, you need to understand what they need and when. It's not just about applying "a lot" of fertilizer, but about setting the right accents at the right time. By precisely adjusting the nutrient ratios, you can achieve healthier plants and better yields.
Here you will learn how the plant "ticks" in its different phases.
The Main Players: NPK, Calcium, and Magnesium
Plants need a balanced mix of various elements. The most important are:
- Nitrogen (N): The engine for growth and green leaves.
- Phosphorus (P): Important for energy and flower development.
- Potassium (K): Ensures stability and helps the plant transport water and nutrients.
- Calcium & Magnesium: The foundation for strong cell walls and photosynthesis. An average ratio of 3:1 is ideal here.
Note: In addition to these main nutrients, there are many other trace elements (micronutrients). These are extremely important, but since the plant only needs tiny amounts, we will omit them here due to complexity. In high-quality mineral fertilizers, they are usually already included in appropriate amounts.
Phases at a Glance
Please note: The mentioned EC values are guidelines. Each strain and setup reacts slightly differently. In the eacygrow app, you will find precise ratios and specifications that you can safely use as a guide.
1. The Young Plant (Seedling)
In the beginning, less is more. The small roots are still delicate.
- EC Guideline: 0.4 – 0.8
- Focus: Only a very light nutrient solution to avoid disturbing root formation.
2. The Growth Phase (Veggie)
Now the plant accelerates, building leaves and stems.
- EC Guideline: 1.2 – 1.6
- The Need: Lots of nitrogen. The plant now needs building material for its green structure.
3. The Transition to Flowering (Stretch)
As soon as flowering is initiated, the plant often makes a tremendous jump upwards.
- EC Guideline: 1.6 – 2.0
- The Need: The plant still needs nitrogen for growth, but already demands more phosphorus and potassium for the upcoming flowers.
4. The Main Flowering
Now, only the quality of fruit production matters.
- EC Guideline: 1.8 – 2.4
- The Need: Nitrogen is now significantly reduced so that the plant puts its energy fully into the flowers. Phosphorus and potassium are now the most important factors for dense and potent buds.

Precision Made Easy
Knowing the theory is one thing; implementing it in the grow room is another. Standard fertilization schemes are inaccurate and often only of limited help.
This is exactly where we come in with eacygrow. In the app, you will find precise ratios that you can adhere to. With tools like the NutS-Calculator and the EC-Calculator, the calculation is done for you. This way, you always feed your plants exactly what they need – data-driven and without guesswork.
