Information on the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act
Information on the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment
The following information is intended for private households that use electrical and/or electronic equipment. We kindly ask you to observe this information for the environmentally friendly disposal of old devices and for your own safety.
Disposal of electrical and electronic equipment and the meaning of the symbol according to Annex 3 of the ElektroG
As the owner of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), you are obliged to dispose of it separately from unsorted municipal waste. WEEE must not be disposed of in normal household waste. Instead, it must be collected separately and disposed of via local collection and return systems.
If you are in possession of old batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed in the old device, these must be separated before disposal.
This is not necessary if the old devices are separated by public waste management authorities in accordance with Section 14, Paragraph 5, Sentences 2 and 3 of the ElektroG in order to prepare them for reuse.
The symbol for the separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment, a crossed-out wheeled bin, helps you to identify devices that must be disposed of separately at the end of their service life.
Options for returning old devices
You can drop off your WEEE at the return or collection points offered by public waste management authorities to ensure proper disposal. In some cases, it is also possible to drop them off for reuse. Further information can be obtained from your local collection or return point
